Luke Duncan

Hi! My name is Luke Duncan.

I was born in Huntington, West Virginia, moved to Athens around age 5, and have been here since. I had known about Good Works since I was little, but I didn’t start participating in the community until I did Kingdom Internships as a high schooler in 2017, 2018, and 2020. After getting to be a Summer Service Intern in 2022, I joined the Timothy House team as Night Shift staff, which I only stepped away from in the fall of 2025 when I switched to working part time on the Hannah House team.

After graduating from Tri-County Career Center, I got my degree in Film & Video Production from Hocking College. I have always loved making videos, whether it was to inform, move, or entertain the audience. I’m grateful that I get to use my passion and the skills I’ve learned to make informative videos sharing what Good Works does and what getting involved looks like!

Working in ministry has been a big part of my family’s legacy, all the way back to my great grandfather, who was a pastor and professor at a Bible college even into his 90s! Since I was very little, my family and I have attended Athens Community Church (ACC), and there I have learned about the challenges people experiencing poverty and / or active recovery face. My parents modeled to me what it looks like to walk with others as they deal with these challenges, so I credit them with planting those seeds of compassion that drew me to stay with Good Works since that first internship.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord and the Good Works community with my hands and my creative skills. When I’m not working, you may find me catching a movie at the Athena Cinema or enjoying a cup of black coffee from one of the many wonderful coffee shops in Athens County.
