Kim Hudelson

Hello!  My name is Kim Hudelson.  I am originally from Indiana, born, raised, and started my adult life there.  While in Indiana I gained work experience as a lab technician and transitioned into full time ministry.  While in full time ministry I gained administrative experience and was involved in Church Planting.  Our mission field was the town we lived in, and we worked alongside other churches while working with people in addiction and those struggling with poverty.

My husband, Jeremy, and I were introduced to Good Works around 2016.  We loved being around like-minded people and waited for an opportunity to open up so we could learn more from the Good Works community.  We were both able to join staff at Good Works during the uncertain times of COVID in the summer of 2020.

Since that time, we have both experienced many different areas of Good Works.  I loved entering the community as Community Life Coordinator and got to explore my giftings in hospitality and share my love of making a house a home.  I also deepened my love for meals in the community setting.  As I transitioned into the Operations side of Good Works I have been learning about and working on my leadership skills and administrative skills.  I love my co-workers and the grace we all have for each other!  We are all learning together and eating together!

I love getting to know our neighbors at our home and getting out in our yard to work in the flower beds.  I have developed an interest in native flowers for the bees and butterflies!  I share many of my flowers in the summertime.  I will bring cut flowers to the Hannah House and sometimes I share them with Friday Night Life on the tables!

I am grateful to get to continue my homemaking skills with the staff and volunteers by cooking and helping keep the spaces cleaned up as I can.  I am also glad I get to work with our Work Retreat group leaders to walk with them through all of the process and steps of paperwork and commitments and communication.  I also love to walk around the Good Works Luring Road property and see the garden in its many different stages through the year and to see the chickens.  I also like to walk around to see the many stages of the seasons on the trails.

I also recently got to sit down and talk about one of my favorite bible stories with a staff person.  We read through Acts 9:32-43.  We talked about community and the impact that it has on us and beyond us.
