Heather Stump

Hello, my name is Heather Stump. I was born and raised in a small town called Johnstown, Ohio. I moved to Athens when I began my college journey and have stayed ever since. I graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology-Criminology. On top of this I got a certificate in Forensic Studies. I graduated a year early so I wanted to spend my fourth year at OU as a graduate student. I got my masters degree in Sociology, my focus being human advocacy. During my studies, I was involved in a choir and an a cappella group at Ohio University, as well as being a Young Life College leader. I was also an orientation leader and welcomed new students during the summer from 2021-2023! Safe to say I was pretty involved on my campus.

The second semester of my graduate program, I chose to do the practicum study. I decided to go to Good Works. When I told the small group I had just started going to at the time about going to Good Works for my practicum study, they were giggling and laughing. Unbeknownst to me, several of them were on staff or volunteers at Good Works! Seems crazy right? Well, as I was at my interview to start my practicum, I discovered that I lived in the house that Keith started Good Works in his basement. In fact, I lived in the exact room he renovated that welcomed strangers in his home in 1981! God did some mighty work showing me where I was supposed to be. I was obedient in His call for me at Good Works and learned to put all of my trust in Him.

I have felt God working in the roles I am in at the Timothy House, Friday Night Life, and Neighbors Helping Neighbors. I cannot wait to see all God does during my time here, praise to Him!
