Keith Pawlowski

Hi! My name is Keith, but my friends at Good Works call me “KP.” I grew up in a small town in western Pennsylvania, moving to Athens as a university student. I spent my entire college career looking for a community to call home, never quite finding a place in the myriad clubs and activities I cycled through.

Meanwhile, I became friends with people in the Catholic student group on campus, and they started introducing me to what life as a Christian meant. Several were involved with a local non-profit called Good Works. I was volunteering with various local one-time events at the time, so I thought about what being a regular volunteer could mean to an organization.

Soon, I started at Good Works as a volunteer, cooking lunch for staff and volunteers on Wednesdays. After graduating, I decided I wanted to grow as a person and as a Christian, so I started working with Good Works as a Summer Service Intern. I particularly spent most of my time helping lead the Teen Agriculture program.

Altogether, that time spent living in Good Works’ intentional, service-oriented Christian community was very formative. The staff instilled in me a sense of belonging that was more than a job title. In fact, I liked the experience so much that I decided to return to the staff as an Appalachian Immersion intern! I am grateful for the opportunity to continue growing in faith and service during this season of my life.

In my free time, I love cooking, exercising, being outdoors, and reading. I love food, and I am always trying to find an ingredient or dish that I have never eaten before!
