Mike Shaub

Hello, my name is Mike Shaub, and I have worked as a caregiver at the Good Works Timothy House since April of 2023. I grew up in Lancaster PA, and have pastored churches in Philadelphia PA, and the former coal mining town of Mount Carmel PA. I have also worked as a hospice chaplain while living in the Akron and Cleveland area. My wife and I moved to Athens in 2022, and I periodically serve as an on-call chaplain for a local hospice here.

It is a JOY to be a part of the transformational ministry of Good Works, and I thank God for bringing me here!

It has been wonderful to see first-hand how evidenced based policies and procedures help those staying at the Good Works Timothy House address the root causes (and often injustices) contributing to their current need for a place to live.

I can testify that the safe and stable sheltering environment provided by caring staff and volunteers created genuine community. Residents are then able to look differently at themselves and their situation, and are often able to create a new life for themselves, and (if they have them) their children.

If I am not at work, you might find me hiking, kayaking, biking, or working outdoors. I also enjoy spending time with my wife Tracy, our dogs Toby and Jax, and traveling to visit our children from South Bend IN to Pittsburgh PA.
