But I am like an olive tree
flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in God’s unfailing love
for ever and ever.
(Psalm 52:8)
Good Works, Inc. is a community of hope. It is the Hope I have in Jesus that compels me and sustains me and that has brought me to Good Works. By Hope I do not mean optimism or wishful thinking, but a REAL HOPE that is grounded in who Jesus is and what He has done and is doing. REAL HOPE is also sustained through endurance and perseverance and clinging fiercely to the God who holds us first and always – the olive tree referenced in Psalm 52 only grows strong, sturdy, and peacefully with deep roots going down in times of suffering and trial.
A native Californian, I have lived on the East Coast since 2001. I have been drawn to Jesus and service from a very young age, which ultimately led me to complete my Master of Divinity in 2022 from Asbury Theological Seminary. This was also the year that I completed a Summer Service Internship with Good Works – this experience was rich, and challenging, and inviting, and helped me to uncover some of my gifts for pastoral care – the value of visiting with, being present to, and praying for people in isolated and vulnerable circumstances. We talk a lot at Good Works about the many forms of poverty – and I am drawn to befriend and companion with people experiencing relational and spiritual poverty. God has revealed His beauty and compassion to me most clearly among those in marginal communities, not only among those experiencing poverty but also persons in recovery programs and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Beyond my day-to-day with Good Works, I am an avid reader, hiker, photographer, and aspiring cook/baker.
